What does it mean to obtain happiness? In my painting, the dancing tube represents material wealth. Its elated grin and movements advertise the happiness that popular media claims materialism has to offer; but does it? The man in the painting ponders this thought as he stands on the top of the hill, and debates whether materialism or appreciation for life holds more significance in the pursuit of happiness. Furthermore, during this time of hardship, many of us are gifted with extra time to ourselves. It is imperative that we then use this time to reflect and look within ourselves to find and appreciate all the people and factors in life that make truly make us happy.
