In an increasingly globalized world we face conflict and struggle in an increasingly globalized way. I had this in mind as I worked on this piece. The white emptiness is meant to reflect the sense of distance between us all as we face COVID-19 together while the continents on the shirts of the characters symbolize the globalized nature of the pandemic. I wanted to convey a sense of hope as well through the wire connecting the two characters representing an opportunity for deeper bonds internationally as human beings. We are all human and we all face this together.
