In the current pandemic long-term care facilities (nursing homes, assisted living, senior centres etc.) are getting hit especially hard. So many of the lives lost are coming from long-term care facilities. Too often these spaces - the workers and residents inside - go unseen and are undervalued. Let us not forget these brave heroes working on the frontlines of long-term care facilities who are in desperate need of emergency funding for PPE and training, smart quarantine strategies, testing, maintaining adequate levels of staffing, safe transportation to and from their work and so so much more.
