Taya De La Cruz

As someone who suffers with severe health anxiety, this period of uncertainty amplifies all of my fears. I've been forced to find a way to accept current circumstances, and not let the fear of what could be, ruin what actually is. I found the answer in one word: “Breathe”. I chose a white background to represent the calming space between worrisome thoughts, and I chose an aquatic colour palette which reminds me of the ocean back home in Spain. I wrote out the word “Breathe” over and over again, ensuring that I maintained that calm state of mind throughout the creation of this piece. I come to this place, and I am free. I hope this will serve to create the same space for others who need it too.
