Demons of depression
This artwork depicts depression in its lowest stage. For a lot of people depression means fighting inner demons, or substance abuse. In this piece I show a sinkhole with demon hands with various objects in their hands such as drugs, medication, razors, and knives. Outside of the sinkhole is a tornado and a calm lake creating the feeling that nobody else has this feeling but you and the tornado of depression is only destroying your life when in reality that is not true. More than 3 million people experience depression every year and many more suffer from drug addiction and substance abuse or even just fighting their inner demons. This drawing represents a very common feeling that we as humans find it hard to talk about or get help. Something so common shouldn’t be left to feel in silence, and this piece opens up that line of dialogue for people to relate to one another.
