The plague doctor was a medical physician who helped around during the bubonic plague. He would go around the village with a stick to examine the patients and check their sores. He was a good guy but looked petrifying and some say is the inspiration for the modern grim reaper. We could definately use him today maybe not for his medical knowledge but this enchanting almost mystical looking guy could be a good mascot to remind the world of how much we have developed and how much he has taught us about hygiene and social distancing.
