Gateway to Help

Instead of fighting together against Coronavirus, people have turned the disease into a weapon for discrimination. Five babies in traditional Chinese clothing with “coronavirus” stamped on their backs sit in mailboxes on a conveyor belt. A traffic sign that says “Gateway to Help” stands before the belt. Babies are without labels. While adults are categorized by work, age, and beliefs, babies can only be judged by race. Each baby represents a different form of discrimination. This baby embodies violence towards Asian people. First displayed on Valentine’s Day, this artwork asks people to ponder the meaning of love in our world.
