The push towards a kitchen-less house in the early 1900s came from the need to liberate the housewife from household chores and enable her more freedom and time. Today in the western world, the idea of a housewife is quite outdated; however, how could changing the nature of kitchens support the bettering of other issues, for example, climate change. Is there a design or a system that would allow us to live closer to self-sufficiency? Can we bring soil right in our apartments and grow our own produce?
