The olive branch here is used as a symbol of peace, harmony, and hope to contrast feelings of confusion, depression, and chaos in the time of pandemic. I thought it was important to use a color that emits tranquility in the tiles that represent one of the world’s most affected areas. I made this piece with the idea that even though the presence of a pandemic is evident, we can still choose to avert our attention to the beauty and hope that lie ahead.
