As elementary schools begin to open around the world, I wanted to turn the idea of social distancing into something playful, engaging and fanciful. In April, Denmark schools became a model of back to school: a new rule is 6' apart. The poster is a catalyst to imagine; to visualize a lion, a blue heron, an emperor penguin jumping from ocean to glacier. The elementary handwriting paper is universal across ages, generations and countries. STEM vocabulary threads through the text - "length," "span," "distance." Looking to our shared future, we imagine being together again, and we collaborate to imagine and realize 6'.
