OUR PLANET HAS BEEN HEALING ITSELF DURING LOCKDOWN DUE TO COVID-19. COLLECTIVELY WE NEED TO PROTECT OUR EARTH, ITS OCEANS AND THE AIR QUALITY BY CONTINUING TO GO GREEN AFTER QUARANTINE AND AS WE RETURN TO OUR NORMAL DAILY LIVES. In terms of plastic, 8.3 million tons are discarded in the sea yearly. Of which, 236,000 are ingestible microplastics that marine creatures mistake for food. In the past 10 years, we’ve made more plastic than the last century & by 2050, the pollution of fish will be outnumbered by our dumped plastic. 100 million marine animals die each year from plastic waste alone and 100,000 marine animals die from getting entangled in plastic yearly – and this is just the creatures they find! Plastics take 500-1000 years to degrade; currently 79% is sent to landfills or the ocean !?!? , while 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗬 9% is recycled, and 12% gets incinerated. We must do our part to Recycle, Reduce & Reuse and change these statistics to save our marine life. This includes the gloves and masks we’ve been wearing during quarantine. Make sure you are disposing of everything correctly and washing whatever is reusable. ♻️ Stay Safe ; Stay Green & Keep Our Oceans Clean !
