Keeping Peace During Covid

I associate this lock-down with feeling disoriented, groggy, sleep-deprived, helpless, restless, stressed, defiant, angry, anxious, depressed, guilty. This lock-down has forced me to acknowledge my feelings and emotions but not let it run amok, lash-out and affect my life and the people around me. To protect my mental health and well-being, I have chosen to do breathing exercises (called pranayam) as soon as I wake up in the morning. One of these exercises includes taking a deep breath in and exhaling with the sound of 'OM' which reverberates and creates a positive and calming atmosphere. I have also shaved my head which keeps me cooler and calmer while dealing with Bombay's punishing heat and humidity. In conclusion, this artwork speaks about my endeavour to be at peace with myself, my family and the prevailing COVID-19 situation.
