As a single mum and coparent the loneliness experienced during lockdown has at times felt insurmountable. I am also concerned for my sons well-being, separated from all social interaction. My drawings attempt to deal with the strangeness of this surreal situation of juggling homeschooling, play, my work, the chores around the house and meal preparation. In relationship to the larger crisis these pressures also seem insignificant, ironically compounding them. I’ve found drawing to be cathartic in engaging these feelings and I hope the viewer feels a shared experience when viewing them.
