With this piece, I aimed to demonstrate how social media and communication technology can serve as a lifeline, especially in terms of connecting the lives of those currently working in the medical field and their associated loved ones. While some of these unsung heroes be unable to see families in person for months, let alone without the constraints of social distancing, social media can keep families connected in a way that no other time in history has allowed.
