Love in the Time of Covid

We go out for fresh air - our lungs and our brains need the oxygen. We are cautious; gloved hands and masked faces we roam - the streets of our magnanimous city both bitter and sweet. My Beloved, he walks beside me, taking in the eerie silence, and I am reminded of the fragility of life: One day here - the next day maybe gone? So I kiss his cheeks - through thin pale blue veils - grateful to share another day...
