I have created the mixed-media artwork entitled “Love is Essential” as part of a series in response to our current situation and global pandemic we face today. The idea of the government dictating what jobs are “essential” and thus leaving many people out of work, made me think about the countries mixed reaction to the restrictions that have been placed on us. This led me to believe in a greater message that may help those who feel lost, forgotten, or simply disheartened. If we can join together in these difficult times and believe in our future, humanity can be stronger through this act of unity and optimism in the face of distress.
