During this pandemic ongoing OB maternity workers that are not entitled to maternity leave of absence are still advised to continue working as frontline workers saving lives. These brave moms to be are not only risking their health, but also risking the health of their unborn babies. They are working in fear under pressure to choose between their jobs and their babies. If employers were to offer coverage insurance for maternity leave before birth, this would lower the risk of pregnancy complications due to pandemics or viruses like COVID-19.
