This design addresses how the patriarchy also hurts men and can make it hard for them to ask for and seek help for their own mental health. A lot of the depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues that men suffer from are not accurately documented or treated because so few ask for help. Asking for help can seem like a sign of weakness, vulnerability, and failure in our patriarchal culture. Meanwhile, suicide rates of men skyrocket and more men commit violent crimes, such as mass shootings. My hope is that this design will help reassure men that they are not alone in their struggle. There is hope and treatment available and asking for help is actually a sign of strength, not weakness.
