#MutualAid Hero
This echo of the iconic 'Rosie the Riveter' recalls the sense of popular mobilization present among civilians during WW2. Much has changed in the generations since, but the tenacity of common people to protect and support their communities is stronger than ever, and nothing exemplifies this better than the upsurge of decentralized, self-organized mutual aid groups forming in response to COVID-19. As politicians dithered, organizers prepared food deliveries and made 3D-printed facemasks. The concept of mutual aid helps us act now and save lives, helps us see, even in the face of great difficulty, that "We can do it!"
