Let's fight racism with the same ferocity we fight this virus. As a member of the Chinese and Asian diaspora, let me make this clear to anyone who misuses this global pandemic as a way to invoke harm unto others and my people: Corona is not synonymous with being Asian. COVID-19 is not a Chinese virus, it is a virus that originated from China but the people of Chinese origin are not to blame of perpetuate hate crimes upon. Wuhan is where the virus started, but it is NOT the people of Wuhan who we should be shaming or targeting with bigotry. This is a global virus—which means everyone on the globe is effected—and that means sending love to Wuhan, to China, and anywhere else the virus has made its impact. We're all in this together, let's act like it.
