Not all wounds are visible. Sometimes they are not viruses or bacterias but demons attacking you from the inside. Monsters lurking in your brain, lunatics roaming around in your head. Just because you cannot see the teeth and the claws doesn't mean they are not there. Pain doesn't need to be seen to be felt.
