P.P.E.—or personal protective equipment, such as gloves and face masks—are vital to essential workers on the frontlines. Despite the necessary role of P.P.E. in flattening the curve, most essential workers are reusing P.P.E. long past they are intended to, or using regular household items to protect themselves—such as garbage bags as face masks. Our protectors deserve to be protected, and we demand that the government acknowledge this disparity and provide P.P.E. to those putting their lives on the line for us.
