I did this painting for an actual nurse working at one of the harder hit hospitals in NY. The emotion that the painting captures represents to me the strength and courage frontline health workers show everyday on the job. The loose brushstrokes and vivid colors give the figure life. And the tools of the trade give her authority, respect and authenticity.
