Reconnecting with Blizzards

I wrote an entry in my journal about the day this photo was taken: "I woke up to the news of the persisting snowstorm. It was still going from last night and wouldn't stop until later this day. [REDACTED] Once I got off the bus, I zipped everything up and even put my hood up. Thankfully I bundled up well and didn't feel like dying the whole time. I entered the park and trudged through the snow while admiring the beautiful scenery around me. The snow was falling fast, but that would never stop me. Once I reached the underpass the horses walk, I gathered my camera gear, taking out my film and digital cameras while waving at the very few people who passed by. Normally people don't do that and vice versa, but during a snowstorm, everyone commends each other just for being able to tough it out outside. I walked to where the tracks were, going through an opening in the already very damaged fence that was in front of them. [REDACTED] I stopped and took pictures of whatever angles caught my eye while having to wipe my lenses every time because of the snow. Sometimes, I'd go outside of the track area to the foresty part, which was just as scenic. Finally seeing Forest Park in the snow was truly something to behold as I already love the park and the snow, and the track aesthetic with the park aesthetic truly made for a wonderful subject to photograph. I noticed my digital camera would randomly say it was about to die (thankfully it didn't) and the advancement lever on my film camera would move slower, but thankfully both didn't get f***** by the blizzard. I trudged and trudged until I finally reached the [train] station, watching the snow travel with the wind and leave cool looking trails that moved like serpents on the station platform. The wind was intense now, moving a lot of the snow even though the snowfall had calmed. I viewed Myrtle Av below which looked super aesthetically pleasing considering its already vintage charm, but now with pretty snow. I took more pictures while also watching the J/Z train pass above (of course I photographed that too :)). I started actually freezing at this point though, as my hands pulsed violently and I started feeling cold. I subsequently walked down the tracks to the 121st street station, bidding farewell my long-hard, yet amazing blizzard journey that gave me some of the best photos I've ever taken :)."
