What I wanted to portray for this project was to tie the theme “Reconnecting with” to my life this year. When I looked back at my year, one thing that was different for me was the ability to see my friends in person, as I was remote for all of last year. I wanted my subjects to portray this message. I directed the people on the sides to act as happy as possible while putting their hands around each other. This represents human connection and the ability to have physical contact with each other. On the other hand, in the middle, Finn is looking down at his phone and is distant from the people around him. He seems sad and lonely, but all he has to do is look up. The font for “Reconnecting with Connection” resembles graffiti on walls because I wanted to have the words seem to embed in the picture and the bland wall.
