A barred window may allow one to see the world they are barred from reaching for the shadows of the wall keep one's eyes in the dark but hopes in the light; the hope of escape can be exhausting. During the pandemic, I felt barred from a world that I could only see on my phone and I felt like giving up. I’m working to reconnect with the hope of breaking the ‘bars.’
