Reconnecting with joy.
I have an Indian dad and a Mexican mom. Even through so much love, every holiday someone tends to be on the fringe — mom a little out of place at Diwali, dad a little out of place at Rosca. After immigrating to America, my dad’s family stopped playing Holi. This year, I felt something in the air pushing us to do it. For the first time in a long time, I felt my cultures conjoin.
