My younger sister and I are seven years apart in age and if that wasn’t a big enough divide already, the pandemic only made it worse. Spending every single hour of every single day together for more than a year did anything but make us close. Behind closed doors and annoyed expressions, our relationship began to slip away. Recently, I have taken more notice to the obvious distance that separates us and have begun to try harder at being a better older sister. Spending time in the outdoors and playing with our pet dog has sparked the reconnection that our sisterly bond has been craving for the past few years.
