The man-made objects and impressions that we leave behind are an extension of ourselves; the footprints that we leave behind say as much about humans as any body part would in a portrait. As these pieces of us that we have left behind take a back seat in the composition of these photos—becoming lithographed by nature—objects that were once meant to protect humans from nature become reconnected with it.
