The last concert I saw before the pandemic was in October of 2019. The first concert I saw after isolation was Patti Smith in Central Park in September of 2021. This portrait was for my photo class, a series dedicated to 1970s punk posters. This photo is me reconnecting with the ability to see live music again and how nothing compares to the pure happiness you feel after a concert, where your hearing is slightly damaged from standing too close to the speakers and your mind is blown and your soul feels fulfilled. This photo was inspired by Iggy Pop, Debbie Harry, and most importantly, Patti Smith.
