Reconnecting With Science

I have always had a fondness for learning and science, but over the years that passion as become a second thought. The hours I spent reading Nation Geographic in the sun somehow faded away. Because of quarantine, I was locked away in my room longing for the outdoors, so I decided to bring it to me. My room became filled with plants of all kinds and my curiosity to learn their every function blossomed along with their flowers. Soon my interests spread beyond just plants to insects, birds, reptiles, mammals. My calling was clearer and stronger than ever. I knew that this was what I wanted to do with the rest of my life and it has lead me to peruse a college degree in biological sciences. This image represents one of the many moments in time when my curiosity was growing beyond plants as it depicts a Neurologist at UCLA studying his zebra fish lab and working to cure Parkinson's disease.
