Sad Girl
This piece was created when I was thinking about the effects of our own thoughts on our mental health. The beautiful woman is crying but looks rather unbothered by the rain cloud; however that’s to represent the brave face that we all put on time to time. The style for this piece was inspired by Roy Lichtenstein’s Crying Girl. The Pop Art style was chosen because mental health is a problem everyone should be talking about and making part of the popular culture. Being a victim of depression and anxiety I understand how hard it can be to escape our fears and insecurities.
