_SKAMS: A Solutions-Oriented Oil Industry Brand

Where does Shapewear (and velour loungewear) come from? What is its secret? Plastic! And plastic = oil. I left the apparel marketing industry more than 15 years ago because it wasn't sustainable enough: There was no plan to seriously respond to climate change by innovating new frontiers in textile manufacture and new ideas about how fashion should work. It is appalling to me that in 2023, billionaires are still being minted via the popularization and sale of unrecycle-able, retro petro Plasticwear. Polyester, Polyamide, Elastane, Spandex, Rayon, Modal... it all comes from oil. There's no innovation here! Less affluent eco-conscious apparel companies are doing more for the Earth. Let's finally hold these bad corporations and influencers accountable for the billions of barrels worth of oil extraction and maximalist lifestyles they promote.
