The idea I had for the poster was to state the fact that while we're smiling and trying to enjoy the best of this quarantine, we can also screw things up not just for us, but for other people. "We turn smiles into frowns," is basically a straight forward message of how we ourselves can cause bad things to happen to all of us if we don't adhere to the precautions we are supposed to uphold. I also wanted to thank all of the essential workers who keep things running, I myself have friends and family who are risking their health to provide a service. The overall design is a bit of a throwback to acid graphics, which I've always loved and appreciated, the smiley face is covered up, but you can get a sense of what it typically looks like and I added a tear drop for the sad times that some not as blessed are facing right now. The color scheme was random, I wanted it to feel fun, but have a bit of dark undertones with the virus cells and hazard symbols, because right now I feel like we all are experiencing mixed emotions.
