The fights for social change should not be paused by Covid 19. If anything, the virus has upped the stakes for oppressed communities. Although many of us activists are rightfully angry, art has always been our secret for positively expressing our demands and urgency to the masses. And, right now, a lot of folks are scared, in denial, losing hope… Artivists must invite folks to creatively connect and reconnect; inspire folks to assist the vulnerable… In order to inspire solidarity and transform folks into allies for social justice, we must first strengthen local communities’ values in compassion.
