The goal was to give a relatable identity to the Classic Medical Symbol, Staff of Hermes. As most people identify with the brand “Hermès” before the Greek representation, I felt this would create opportunity for research and discovery of today’s heroes, specifically nurses. Side symbols include the relatable Statue of Liberty along with more hidden history, the “Join Or Die” snake as made famous by Benjamin Franklin in place of the original Staff of Hermes snake, chosen for the image to represent the importance of the medical community going back to the beginning of the US.
