Staying Connected
The inspiration for this artwork is my family and people who do not take this pandemic seriously. Social distancing is the only way for us to get through this terrible time. However, numerous amount of people fail to listen. The "Staying Connected" that I have rendered is a photo of my grandmother and cousin. As well as a phone and hand, these two symbols represent social distancing. The photo symbolizes families across the world. As for tools, I used acrylic pens, graphite pencils, black ink pens, and mechanical erasers. A ruler and a white gel pen. The bright and dark acrylic colors create contrast throughout the piece. The conceptual strength in reference to this painting is that these objects portray the importance of social distancing. Family is extremely important and until people begin to listen and stay apart, only then we will be able reconnect with our families.
