During the pandemic I attended a Stop the Asian Hate rally with my friend Madison DeGuzman (who is pictured). We were both stunned by hate against Asian Americans but happy to see the big turnout at the rally. Madison’s dad is of Fillipino descent, but was born in America. He often says “we are just as American as anybody else.”
