(Oil on canvas, 2020) My series “Sungazers” celebrates the universal thread that binds our human experience as it examines the aftermath of the current pandemic as well as themes of identity, spirituality, immigration and systemic racism with colorful hope. "Sungazers II: Las Vigilias" brings together family members from both my native Barcelona and the United States, where I currently reside, in an attempt to reconcile both worlds and understandings of Home. The piece evokes the hope and desire to hold each other again. An ode to femininity, belonging with one another and raising from darkness.
