This image was inspired by the amazing work of those who give care to one another. This includes not only the numerous healthcare workers on the front lines of the pandemic, but also the quiet acts of care we give to each other and even ourselves. I hope we can see how much care is undervalued, and is still gendered work in our patriarchal society. Nevertheless I wanted to create a more universal image. While most would see the flower receiving life from the sun, I like to imagine that maybe the sun is given life from flowers. There is strength in care, in softness, tenderness, and patience.
