Through this piece, I wanted to create a sense of belonging for all of the diverse cultures that make up America today. The various textiles shown here create a “tapestry” that is a more accurate representation of who we are as a people, and includes textiles and patterns from the Hmong, Guatemalan, West African, and Jewish cultures, among others. Joining these fabrics together shows how our identity is comprised of many nations intertwined.
