In a time of confusion, people can be quick to place blame on others. In this scenario, the Asian community has experienced a significant amount of racism. The term "Chinese Virus" has been tossed around so lightly, that it has created a stereotype of Asians "causing" the pandemic. This stereotype has resulted in Asians’ voices in society to be completely disregarded. Coughing while Asian—being judged for being human—was one of the most surreal experiences I’ve ever had. It is important to remember that though everyone is scared, it is no excuse to disrespect others.
