The Kindness Contagion

The Contagion we CAN control. As we religiously track the brutal trajectory of the corona virus and our response to this crisis, we’re witnessing dueling contagions: one deadly, the other ameliorative. Mirror images of each other. Kindness has gone viral too! Heartwarming stories of kindness and humanity are emerging in these times of uncertainty, but all over the world. Like the corona, kindness seems to be spreading exponentially. “Community spread” has taken hold, only in a positive way. Like other pathogens, the kindness contagion is also capable of mutating, jumping from one type of altruistic behavior to another. The one difference from the unsparing COVID spread is this depends on simply recognizing acts of kindness for further 'transmission'. We can't emulate what we don't see and we don't always see kindness! If enough of us consciously do so, we might see the current pandemic of kindness grow even larger — and hopefully stick around long after the corona virus has been vanquished. Go on, be a carrier - seeding others with your kindness!
