The Warrior: St. George and the Dragon
This is an autobiographical work about overcoming. A few years ago, I was a victim of rape and abuse in a romantic relationship. Although I managed to escape the relationship, the ordeal left me emotionally and physically shattered. I no longer knew who I was. But gradually, with the help of therapy, good friends, and family, God began to reconstruct that shattered identity, and I began to realize that I was, in fact, the heroic protagonist of my own story, and not the weak victim my abuser had encouraged me to believe I was. I hope this encourages others to see that they have the power to face the dragons in their lives, even those elusive ones that may exist only in the heart and mind.
