‘There Will be Light’

Oil/acrylics on canvas board A medic sits alone in the dark at the end of the shift, surrounded by empty chairs representing loss of colleagues. But today is the first day that he or she can take off the PPE gloves and massage the bare hands underneath. Today, the battle has been won; the dawn is breaking and at last Coronavirus has been beaten - not without enormous strain and sacrifice. I wanted to say to the frontline medics: ‘we see you’. And one day, there will be light.
