This is a South African saying (in isiZulu) which means compassion, togetherness and humanity. It means "I am, because you are"; which means that we do not exist in isolation as human beings. We exist together, help one another and we are connected. When one hurts, we all hurt. No one is left behind. Our Constitution is also based on values of humaneness.
