The most difficult thing about the past year has been the lack of touch. Specifically, the lack of hugs, of holding. Soon, I'll be fully vaccinated, and with that comes the knowledge that I don't need to be afraid when holding someone I care about, nor them towards me. This piece evokes the famous image of a sailor and a nurse at the end of World War 2, but adjusts it to give power to both participants. Together, they're making the world a safer place, and they get to love each other while doing it.
