This work was inspired by a trip to my local grocery store, early in the Covid-19 pandemic. I watched a horrible scene unfold while I was shopping for groceries. In front of me in the check out line, I watched a mother pull her child away from an Asian man who was standing behind her in line. I was stunned into silence at the time. But I can't sit with that silence, and so I made art.
