We pay tribute to the health care workers and first responders. But what about the poverty stricken? The ones who's babies are eating sand for dinner. The ones who do not have water let alone soap or sanitizers. Let us also pay homage to them. For keeping their babies alive. For finding a way. For finding the tiniest ounce of hope in their hearts. There is a higher force watching over us whether we call it God, the Universe or the powers that be. The force that protects us when we have all but given up. Let us keep the faith. Let us be strong and brave. Let us pay homage to ourselves, even if all we did today was stay alive. We are heroes too. Let us envision a healthy world. This too shall pass, for even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.
