As a collage artist, I’m always trying to bring unlike images together to create something new and encourage the viewer to look at their world in a new way. Now, out of the pandemic, we’re all being forced to look at our world in a way we have never seen before. The background image for this piece is a hand-cut and pasted collage created from old magazines and books. Through this technique, I want to show the relationship between humans and the natural world, showing where we can find beauty even in chaos. The pandemic is a storm we are all going through right now, but by coming together we can, and will, grow from it. When we are done, the outside world will look even more beautiful when we finally step outside.
